Our Journey: From Passion to Platform
My name is James McNaughton, and I’m a Business & Management student at the University of Glasgow going into my third year. What began as an interest in strategic thinking and competitive problem-solving has evolved into a mission: to make high-quality case competition resources accessible to students worldwide.
Throughout my academic journey, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in global case competitions — often thrown into the deep end with new teammates, limited time, and complex challenges. Over time, I noticed something: while consulting firms and elite business schools teach structured problem-solving at an advanced level, there was a major gap in support for students trying to break into this world. Many were eager, but few had access to the right guidance. That insight led to the idea behind this website.
I created this platform to demystify case competitions and teach them in a way that’s both rigorous and practical. Drawing from real-world frameworks used by top firms, I’ve developed a toolkit that breaks down the case-solving process into approachable, logical steps, not just theory, but actual strategies I’ve used in competition. Whether you're new to cases or preparing for your next global challenge, this site is designed to build your skills in structured thinking, business analysis, and impactful communication.

This website wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and strategic mindset of my close collaborator and friend, a talented software engineer from Glasgow Caledonian University. Also entering his third year of study, he brings a rare blend of technical ability and sharp business awareness that’s helped turn our shared vision into a working product.
From building a scalable MVP to integrating features like interactive market sizing tools, downloadable resources, and secure user accounts, his work has transformed the project from an idea into a living, evolving platform. His approach to development is pragmatic and future-oriented — always thinking three steps ahead about how the site can grow, improve, and better serve users.
